Field Service Engineer - Canon Multifunction Devices

About the Role

MARC INFOSYSTEMS invites dedicated candidates for the position of Field Service Engineer specializing in Canon Multifunction Devices (MFDs). The role entails ensuring optimal machine performance through hands-on installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and customer service across Jaipur and assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission Canon MFDs, including machine setup, configuration, testing, and software installation on client computers.
• Provide user training post-installation to ensure smooth operation.
• Address service calls within the assigned area, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software issues in devices like imageRUNNER series.
• Repair or replace faulty parts following Canon protocols and verify machine functionality after repairs.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance by cleaning, inspecting parts, and identifying potential faults before failures occur.
• Set up network functionalities including LAN and Wi-Fi connections, basic IP settings, and network printing capabilities.
• Collaborate with client IT staff for resolving networking problems and support document workflow functions such as scan-to-email and scan-to-folder.
• Maintain professionalism, communicate effectively with customers regarding problems and resolutions, and ensure high satisfaction levels.
• Complete and update service reports, track machine metrics, manage spare parts inventory, and comply with service level agreements and response timelines.
• Assist sales and technical teams with machine demonstrations, installations, relocations, and feedback on recurring technical issues.

Required Skills and Experience

• Diploma or ITI in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Hardware or related disciplines preferred.
• 1 to 3 years experience servicing printers, photocopiers, or multifunction devices with knowledge of Canon and similar brands.
• Familiarity with laser printing technology, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Competency in installing printer drivers, software, and handling basic network printing setups.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, IP configuration, Windows OS troubleshooting, and document imaging workflows.
