Role Overview

We seek an experienced mining professional to lead on-site deployments as a Mining Engineer. This role serves as the pivotal link between Pronto’s innovative technology and the customer’s everyday mining operations. Responsibilities include managing a high-achieving technical team, guaranteeing customer compliance with infrastructure arrangements, and delivering projects in line with stringent performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure successful project delivery by meeting agreed performance metrics and seamless integration of autonomous systems into mining production cycles.
• Lead and manage the local field team covering permitting, scheduling, adherence to safety protocols, and general performance of work.
• Hold customers accountable for their obligations including resources, machine availability, and readiness of site, routes, and equipment.
• Serve as the central communication link between the customer site and Pronto headquarters, providing consistent progress updates and resolving technical or operational barriers.
• Collaborate with customers to establish or adjust operational procedures to support autonomous haulage systems.
• Direct customer training initiatives on Pronto’s technology and oversee the formal transfer of system control to the mining operations team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of hands-on mining experience with comprehensive familiarity with mine site environments, production processes, and safety considerations.
• Between 5 to 10 years of leadership experience in roles such as Site Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, or Fleet Manager.
• Proven involvement in technology deployments including autonomy, remote operations, telematics, or machine control systems.
• A university degree in Mining Engineering is mandatory to establish credibility with client stakeholders.

Competencies

• Authority on site with an ability to influence customer decisions and ensure operational readiness.
• Expertise in managing transition processes from manual to autonomous or technology-assisted mining operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report effectively to executive-level stakeholders within both customer organizations and Pronto.

Working Conditions

• This is an on-site position requiring stay in local or customer-provided accommodations during deployments.
• Work schedules align with mining rotations (e.g., multiple weeks on-site followed by weeks off) instead of standard office hours.
• Current project requires an approximate commitment of 2 months onsite at Ma’aden.

Physical & Health Requirements

• Capability to navigate rugged terrains and operate under harsh environmental conditions typical of mining sites.
• Compliance with site-specific health and safety standards including necessary medical certifications.
