Role Overview
We are recruiting Field Engineers to collaborate closely with potential and strategic enterprise clients. In this role, you will represent Cursor technically in the field, assist customers in evaluating our product Cursor, guide them through proofs of concept, and help them realize the benefits of integrating AI into their engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside Account Executives to lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Develop trusted partnerships with engineering leaders, architects, and developers by acting as a technical consultant.
- Convert customer needs into effective solution designs and advise on best practices for deployment, prompt development, and context setting.
- Create and present technical talks, whiteboarding exercises, and practical workshops customized to client requirements.
- Serve as an internal advocate for customers, influencing product roadmaps and escalating critical feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
- Coordinate with post-sales units to ensure seamless transitions and successful customer onboarding.
- Keep abreast of Cursor's features and competitive market position to demonstrate our value convincingly.
- Assist in strategic account planning and support growth opportunities through technical validation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Excellent communication capabilities and professional presence, equally comfortable programming with developers or briefing CTO-level executives.
- In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles, modern engineering organizational structures, and developer productivity issues.
- Strong technical skills with familiarity in technical workflows, AI tools, and resolving complex system issues, even if not a full-time engineer.
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate technical complexities into meaningful business outcomes.
- Previous experience in roles such as Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting within enterprise software contexts.
- Ability to thrive in a startup culture by being resourceful, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.
