Role Overview
As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) in Production, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and advising on product application documentation like bills of materials and installation guides.
- Providing expert technical guidance to customers and internal sales teams.
- Customizing and engineering applications of existing products to satisfy customer requirements.
- Supporting customers during the introduction and installation phases on-site or at their facilities.
- Conducting product demonstrations, delivering training, and performing presentations; this role requires proficiency in installing cable accessories for high voltage applications up to 245kV.
- Collaborating with Technical Services and Engineering teams during new product development to relay customer needs and application insights.
- Contributing technical expertise to the tendering and bidding process.
- Training clients on both new and existing products.
- Traveling domestically and internationally as needed to conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and customer visits.
- Providing competitive market intelligence and benchmarking information based on field experience regarding products, services, challenges, and opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Certified cable jointer qualified for cable accessories applications up to 245kV.
- Preferably holds an electrical engineering background.
- Possesses over 10 years of experience in cable accessories installation and application.
- Completed a craft apprenticeship in the electrical engineering domain and holds a Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, or is a trade-qualified cable jointer.
- Experience within the power utility or cable/accessory sectors would be advantageous.
- Highly practical with adept hand skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with computer usage and holds a valid driving license.
Minimum education
Diploma / ITI / Vocational
