Fiber Optic Technology Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Fiber Optic Technology Engineer to contribute to sophisticated well surveillance and monitoring tasks within the oil and gas industry. The role demands practical expertise with Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), or related Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) technologies applied in downhole monitoring, production tracking, well interventions, reservoir analysis, and hydraulic fracturing diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Operate and support fiber optic sensing systems specifically DAS, DTS, and DFOS for oil and gas applications.
• Manage fiber optic deployment processes including commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting challenges.
• Perform Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing, fusion splicing, fiber termination, and maintain interrogator systems.
• Provide technical support related to well surveillance, completions, interventions, production monitoring, and reservoir management.
• Be prepared to deploy to various field locations for hands-on operational assistance.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

• Engineering degree or relevant qualification highly desired.
• Experience with recognized industry players such as SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, Expro, Silixa, OptaSense, AP Sensing, Fotech, Bandweaver, Sensornet, Yokogawa, or Omnisens.

This opportunity strictly requires expertise in fiber optic sensing within the Oil & Gas sector. Candidates whose experience is limited to telecommunications, ISP, data centers, FTTH, cabling, or general telecom fiber optics will not be considered.
