F&B Service Expert

Overview

At Protea Hotels by Marriott®, serving food is more than just delivering a meal; it’s about creating a memorable dining experience complemented by quality food and beverages. The Food and Beverage (F&B) Service Expert plays a key role by proactively offering various services to ensure guests thoroughly enjoy their meals. This includes table setup, kitchen communication, guest interaction, serving, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set tables neatly and efficiently.
• Facilitate clear communication between kitchen and service areas.
• Engage guests with courteous and attentive service during their dining experience.
• Maintain clean working spaces and properly manage service supplies.
• Handle physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking in varying surfaces, and lifting moderate weights (up to 25 pounds unaided; up to 50 pounds with help).
• Perform tasks involving bending, twisting, reaching overhead and below knees as needed.

Work Environment & Standards

The role requires good physical stamina involving prolonged standing, movement around uneven or slippery surfaces, and a proactive hands-on approach. It’s vital to adhere strictly to company policies, maintain a safe workplace, uphold quality standards, and display professional personal appearance and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Work experience: Less than one year in a related service field preferred.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification mandated.
