About the Role
Join an inclusive and diverse team as an F&B Commis II at Ruby Lounge, Marina Bay Sands. Your role focuses on delivering high-quality culinary output while maintaining workplace efficiency and adherence to hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks under guidance from Chef de Partie and Sous Chefs, following directives accurately.
- Demonstrate adaptability by working any day of the week and across different shifts as business requires.
- Maintain concentration to complete assigned tasks fully before proceeding to others.
- Complete work orders from Chef de Partie within set time limits.
- Participate actively in company training sessions and embrace learning with a constructive attitude aligned with corporate values.
- Work efficiently and harmoniously with colleagues in culinary, pastry, and bakery departments, fostering positive team relations.
- Exude a positive demeanor and pride in workmanship that reflects in products served to guests.
- Comply with all health, safety, sanitation, and fire policies and statutory obligations.
- Report any facility issues promptly and via proper channels to culinary management.
- Keep oneself and subordinates well-groomed; uphold excellent customer interaction especially in public-facing spaces.
- Adhere strictly to scheduled working hours and notify properly in case of illness or absence.
- Oversee food production processes to ensure conformity with recipes and presentation standards, including portion control.
- Maintain food quality and hygiene, strictly applying the First In First Out methodology for storage.
- Store all food items correctly in designated refrigeration and storage units during working hours.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions of culinary areas; supervise station cleanliness post-service by all team members.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and instruct peers on correct operational procedures.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Possess a degree, diploma, or certification in Culinary Arts, Patisserie, or Bakery.
- Have 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in culinary arts, pastry, or bakery roles.
- Ability to recognize different raw materials and categorize them accordingly.
- Knowledgeable in distinguishing various cuisine types.
- Basic expertise in cooking techniques and sanitation requirements.
- Proficient in fundamental food preparation methods and knife handling skills.
- Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shift hours.
