Farm Greenhouse Associate

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

At Pike Farms, we emphasize career growth by providing opportunities to work across different sections of our greenhouse. As a Greenhouse Associate, you will obtain practical experience and understanding in multiple greenhouse areas including:

• Shipping operations
• Production tasks
• Plant maintenance

Mastering these functions will help you develop comprehensive skills that support the overall efficiency and success of the greenhouse facility. After your initial 90 days, you will be designated to a specific department based on your strengths.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Previous experience in greenhouse environments is advantageous
• A strong passion for plants and gardening
• Familiarity with retail merchandising and inventory stocking

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• You must be able to stand and move around within the greenhouse throughout your entire shift
• Tasks require physical exertion including lifting, bending, reaching, walking, pushing, and pulling carts, as well as handling and sorting materials
• Ability to repetitively lift items weighing 5-10 pounds
• Capability to withstand exposure to hot, humid greenhouse climates as well as outdoor weather conditions
• Extensive physical activity throughout the day such as stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead
• Unassisted lifting can reach up to 50 pounds
• The majority of work will be outdoors, with some activities inside buildings
