About the Role
Join the Queensland Government to support cutting-edge scientific research as a Facility Officer at the Health and Food Science Precinct in Coopers Plains. This practical position involves maintaining essential infrastructure and specialized equipment, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. You will coordinate the handling and storage of chemicals, gases, and goods while assisting with routine facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include providing maintenance support for research facilities, overseeing deliveries and chemical storage documentation, assisting building maintenance, and monitoring infrastructure systems. You will collaborate with researchers, contractors, and stakeholders, manage the central stores function, and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate holds both a current C Class Driver Licence and a Forklift Licence, possesses a proactive and safety-conscious mindset, and can perform physical tasks such as manual handling with up to 15kg safely. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective time management, and customer service abilities are essential.
