Role Overview

The Facilities Manager will oversee all daily functions related to the maintenance, safety, and operation of school buildings, grounds, and associated facilities. This role requires managing maintenance personnel and external service providers, coordinating repair activities, and ensuring all school environments including classrooms, administrative offices, and shared spaces are clean, functional, and well-maintained.

Key responsibilities include monitoring critical building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security, scheduling routine inspections and preventive maintenance, managing budgets related to facilities, maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. The Facilities Manager works closely with school leaders to uphold smooth operational flow and maintain a secure, conducive learning setting.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated expertise in facility operations, building upkeep, and managing vendors.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations including risk assessments and emergency readiness.
• Experience with budget preparation, cost monitoring, and resource inventory control related to facilities.
• Proven leadership skills with capability to supervise teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational aptitude, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical or professional certification in facilities management, engineering, or a related discipline; having a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Prior experience overseeing facilities in educational or comparable institutional environments is highly advantageous.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Abuja and respond swiftly to facility concerns as they emerge.
