Facilities Manager

About the Role

Etqan Global Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School in Doha under Nord Anglia Education, is recruiting a Facilities Manager. This role entails overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of the school's physical infrastructure to ensure a safe, secure, and functional environment for the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily functioning of the school estate to keep facilities safe, operational, and fit for their intended purpose.
• Develop and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules and handle reactive maintenance issues promptly.
• Coordinate statutory inspections, testing, certifications, and assist in internal and external audits to maintain compliance standards.
• Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring all works meet safety protocols and quality benchmarks.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing refurbishment and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain asset registers, equipment documentation, and maintenance records to enable effective lifecycle management.
• Support budgeting and procurement processes for facilities management, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide facilities assistance during school events, examinations, and emergency situations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent certification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or related fields.
• Prior experience managing facilities within complex operational environments.
• Background in coordinating maintenance programs and handling contractor relationships.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, statutory regulations, and facilities management best practices.
• Excellent organizational abilities, communication skills, and proficiency with IT tools.
• Possession of Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or equivalent credentials is advantageous.
• Additional qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or project management certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are beneficial.
• Experience in educational settings and/or working within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is desirable.
