About Etqan Global Academy
Etqan Global Academy (EGA), situated in Doha, Qatar, is a newly established International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Affiliated with Nord Anglia Education, a prominent global operator of international schools, EGA is committed to fostering an exceptional learning environment for early childhood education within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Early Years framework.
Role Overview
We seek an enthusiastic and compassionate Early Years Teacher to join our team. The role involves designing and implementing play-based, inquiry-driven learning activities that correspond with the IB PYP Early Years philosophy. This position demands creating a supportive, safe, and inspiring classroom atmosphere where young learners feel valued and motivated.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, play-oriented learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP Early Years curriculum.
- Maintain a nurturing and secure classroom environment fostering children's growth and inspiration.
- Conduct observations and maintain portfolios to assess student development, informing future teaching strategies.
- Establish strong partnerships with parents through effective communication and involvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, evaluate, and refine inquiry units within the Early Years team.
- Promote the IB learner profile attributes, international-mindedness, and positive PYP attitudes throughout teaching practices.
- Support children's social-emotional development, independence, and wellbeing.
- Participate actively in the wider school community including continuing professional development, school events, and school improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a valid and recognized teaching qualification in Early Years, Primary, or Early Childhood Education (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent).
- Have practical teaching experience with children aged between 3 and 6 years, ideally within an IB or other international school settings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the IB PYP Early Years curriculum or an equivalent inquiry-based early childhood education framework.
- Understand child development theories and employ play-based, child-initiated pedagogical methods.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm and supportive attitude towards children and families.
- Show a strong dedication to inclusive education practices and the wellbeing of all students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and protecting children is essential.
- Previous international school experience is considered advantageous.
