Facilities Chaperone

Overview

The role involves escorting external contractors and engineers throughout the site as they carry out maintenance and repair duties. You will ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and assist with general facilities-related activities when possible across various locations.

Responsibilities

• Accompany external engineers around site to supervise compliance with safety procedures
• Report any breaches of regulations or non-compliance to the Project or Engineering Manager for guidance
• Welcome engineers on arrival, either independently or with management personnel
• Ensure risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are completed and followed
• Conduct site inductions covering health and safety policies and legal requirements
• Understand and support workplace policies, as well as supplier or manufacturer guidelines for using tools, equipment, and machinery safely
• Assist with unloading and loading of large deliveries
• Help with movement of equipment and support engineers with facilities-related tasks
• Perform general driving duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team to meet collective goals
• Proactive approach with willingness to offer support to colleagues
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective communication skills to build positive working relationships with external parties
• Full UK driving licence is mandatory

Additional Information

This full-time role requires a flexible schedule, working any five days within seven including bank holidays. Applicants should be prepared to work onsite at Stoke-On-Trent.
