Job description

Role Overview

The Fabric Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient upkeep and maintenance of the building's fabric, contributing to a high standard of operations within the integrated facilities management (IFM) environment. This role emphasizes flexibility, accuracy, and teamwork to support key operational objectives.

Site Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere strictly to the client's global policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including implementing current good manufacturing practices in daily tasks.
  • Complete all mandated site training and remain updated on the latest operational protocols.
  • Collaborate proactively to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Participate in regular safety toolbox talks led by CBRE to promote environmental health and safety (EHS) excellence.
  • Support and maintain permitting processes and overall site compliance strategies.

Operational Duties

  • Perform assigned building maintenance and respond to helpdesk requests effectively, engaging regularly with end users and building maintenance leads.
  • Handle emergency maintenance situations promptly, addressing issues such as structural damages, liquid spills, blocked drains, and furniture relocations.
  • Ensure repair work is carried out with minimal disruption to occupants and operational activities.
  • Demonstrate versatility by assisting the IFM team with diverse tasks as needed by the business.
  • Oversee specialist vendors ensuring completion of work to specified quality standards.
  • Manage the issuance of permits to work for third-party contractors.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in general trades such as carpentry, plumbing, building, or electrical work within a regulated setting.
  • Possession of a Trade Certificate in Building Fabric Maintenance, Construction, or an equivalent qualification.
