Role Overview
As an External Audit Manager specializing in ESG assurance based in Doha, Qatar, you will oversee a prestigious client portfolio, managing full audit cycles. Your responsibilities will include client liaison, technical management, and applying audit strategies collaboratively with engagement leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships and technical issues for assigned client portfolios.
- Drive business development by identifying and researching new and existing client opportunities.
- Formulate strategies to resolve complex technical challenges and enhance both personal and team expertise.
- Lead large projects to successful completion within deadlines.
- Design audit strategies and supervise execution in line with leadership guidance.
- Advise clients on financial reporting and stays updated on regulatory changes through seminars.
- Maintain strong engagements with senior management, including board and audit committee presentations.
- Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence standards.
- Stay informed about local and national economic and business developments.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, prioritizing their well-being.
- Promote digital transformation through audit technologies and alternative delivery models to strengthen audit quality.
- Participate in recruiting efforts adhering to company hiring standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- At least 6 to 8 years of external financial audit experience, preferably within a Big Four firm.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CA, ACA, or CPA completed.
- Experience auditing across various industries.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is advantageous.
- Strong project management capability managing audits from planning to completion.
- Confidence in ensuring high-quality testing and documentation standards.
- Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships at all organizational levels.
- Innovative mindset fostering team collaboration and adapting to change.
- Promotes diversity and inclusion within teams.
- Knowledge or experience with audit technologies and data analytics tools is a plus.
