This opportunity is for an Expert Team Lead in Software Engineering, based in Saudi Arabia, focusing on leading the quality and delivery of human-generated data to support advanced AI model development. Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of quality and delivery for assigned human data projects, personally reviewing work to ensure accuracy, consistency, adherence to guidelines, and scalable production.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI Tutors, including conducting performance evaluations, maintaining development documentation, creating improvement plans, and facilitating skill-building sessions.
• Actively engage in data labeling, annotation, evaluation, and review tasks to set exemplary standards.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, taxonomy standards, workflow protocols, and evaluation criteria.
• Track operational metrics such as quality scores, throughput, and send-back rates to detect bottlenecks and drive efficiency improvements.
• Create and update training content, exercises, and certification standards; manage certification and workforce adjustments.
• Collaborate with data managers, other leads, and engineering teams to convert evolving AI model requirements into clear labeling strategies and operational workflows.
• Promote a high-performance culture through effective coaching, accountability, and talent development actions.
• Document project results, identify areas for process enhancements, and communicate status, risks, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
• Advocate for the AI Tutor team and foster collaboration across the broader human data organization.

Requirements

• At least one year of practical experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training, evaluation, content quality, or similar operational fields.
• Professional background in building or contributing to scalable, high-performance software engineering or technical applications.
• Understanding of data quality metrics, annotation workflows, process guidelines, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Basic familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, especially the impact of high-quality training data on model performance.
• Experience in people management, coaching, training development, performance management, or certification processes.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience leading small teams in data labeling, annotation, or related operational environments.
• Capability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical skills with familiarity in KPI-based operational improvements; SQL knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience working with distributed teams, including combinations of full-time and contract workers, is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly and fostering diverse stakeholder alignment.
• Exceptional organizational aptitude, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and dedication to continuous process improvement.
• Ability to integrate strategic planning with hands-on execution and maintain involvement in technical and operational duties.
• Expertise in at least one relevant technical or specialist area such as finance, STEM, coding/software engineering, or another technical domain.
