About the Role

We are recruiting a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in ranking and personalization to join a partner company based in Ireland. This role involves working in an AI-powered environment dedicated to enhancing e-commerce search, discovery, and shopping through advanced machine learning. The successful candidate will create scalable, real-time personalization systems used by hundreds of millions of users globally, collaborating closely with engineers, data experts, and business teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive improved product discovery and user engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, real-time machine learning services focused on ranking and personalization across varied e-commerce platforms and industry segments.
• Advance personalized shopping experiences by creating and enhancing recommendation and discovery capabilities based on user behavior and preferences.
• Analyze interaction data and user behavior to construct effective models that promote relevant and engaging customer experiences.
• Research and implement diverse personalization strategies to maximize customer value and business impact.
• Design and interpret A/B testing experiments to validate hypotheses and quantify personalization improvements on business metrics.
• Partner with engineering teams, ranking specialists, and cross-functional stakeholders to continuously develop and refine personalization features.
• Communicate technical decisions, findings, and business outcomes clearly to various stakeholders, translating complex machine learning concepts into actionable insights.
• Own issues from investigation to deployment, ensuring production systems are reliable, scalable, and effective.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience applying machine learning, including deployment in practical settings.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with big data technologies to support full cycle ML product development.
• Demonstrated experience in building, deploying, and maintaining production-level personalization, recommendation, or ranking systems.
• Strong background in designing and analyzing A/B tests and using results to improve models and products.
• Familiarity with major public cloud platforms is considered advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to diagnose complex challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Fluent English communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts and convey business value to diverse teams.
• Proven success in working collaboratively within cross-functional teams balancing tech priorities with business goals.
• Self-driven with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and identify improvement opportunities.
• A proactive and collaborative attitude paired with empathy, responsibility, and passion for impactful ML solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive annual base salary ranging approximately from 80000 to 120000 USD, dependent on experience and skills.
