Experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for a full-time position encompassing 35 hours per week. Located in the Greater Bournemouth area, this role offers an opportunity to join a supportive team focused on exceptional patient and client care within a state-of-the-art veterinary practice.

About the Practice

Our facility spans 3,000 sq. ft across two levels, featuring five consultation rooms including a bereavement room, two surgical theaters, digital and dental x-ray machines, ultrasound equipment, and a comprehensive IDEXX diagnostic suite. Serving over 6,000 active small animal and exotic patients, the practice continues to grow, emphasizing a collaborative and rewarding workplace environment dedicated to quality pet care.

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient nursing care covering all general areas within veterinary practice.
• Ensure outstanding standards of care and support for patients and their owners.
• Collaborate effectively both autonomously and as part of the wider team.
• Maintain excellent communication and strong organizational habits.
• Contribute compassionately to animal welfare and foster a positive team environment.
• Assist in operational aspects of the clinic to maintain smooth daily functioning.
• Motivate and support colleagues in achieving both personal and clinic-wide goals.
• Involve in patient transfers and home visits; a driving license is advantageous but not mandatory.

Working Hours

The position involves working five days per week with 35 hours total. Shifts include a mix of early and late hours between 7:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., including one Saturday every five weeks from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., compensated with a weekday off. Each shift is 8 hours with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications and Skills

• Registered Veterinary Nurse certification and relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in all general nursing tasks and compassionate patient care.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational aptitude.
• Passion for animal welfare and team support.
