Job description
Role Overview
This position involves evaluating candidates' responses for the GCE Russian (2017 Specification) qualification according to a strict mark scheme, while complying with recognition criteria and examination protocols. Most marking is performed digitally via ePEN from home, although some subjects still require paper-based assessment using scripts sent by post. A robust command of the subject matter is essential to apply scoring guidelines effectively. Each examiner receives a specific allocation of exam scripts.
Primary Duties
- Correctly and consistently marking exam responses to uphold overall quality standards
- Submitting sample marked scripts to the Team Leader within designated deadlines
- Adhering to set timelines to meet marking milestones
- Completing all required administrative processes as directed
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a university degree or an equivalent credential
- Teaching qualification, recognized both within the UK and internationally
- At least five months of part-time teaching experience in the relevant subject and qualification, gained within the UK within the past ten years
- Alternatively, applicants without teaching experience but with relevant assessment experience from a UK-accredited exam board within the last five years, applicable to the qualification and subject, will also be considered

Additional Details
- The marking timeframe extends from May through July annually
- Training for examiners is scheduled between May and June
