About the Role

The City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a passionate Events Officer to contribute to enhancing community engagement through memorable event experiences. This role plays a pivotal part in advancing Wagga Wagga's reputation as a prominent regional events and tourism hub by supporting and delivering the Council's major event calendar and mentoring community event organizers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and management of major events within the Council's schedule.
  • Provide guidance and support to community members organizing local events.
  • Collaborate with diverse event stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes.
  • Manage operational demands and event delivery requirements on event days.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Class C Driver’s License is required.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant equivalent experience in event management and sponsorship programs.
  • Proven skills in event planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and budget management.
  • Availability to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Employment Details and Benefits

  • Permanent full-time role, working 35 hours per week.
  • Starting salary begins at $3,369.50 gross per fortnight, with potential progression to $4,043.40 gross per fortnight, plus 12% superannuation.
