Based in the Detroit suburbs, this leading General Contractor is a fully employee-owned commercial construction firm with operations nationwide. They manage diverse projects tailored to the varied communities they serve and are expanding their workforce with a dedicated Estimator.
Role Overview
The Estimator will be essential to the preconstruction phase, delivering precise and competitive cost projections for commercial and industrial projects. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure bids are thorough and align with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and documentation to estimate time, costs, materials, and labor requirements.
- Obtain and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Engage in bid strategy discussions and support project handoffs.
- Update and manage historical cost information and unit pricing data.
- Work hand-in-hand with project teams to facilitate a smooth transition from bid to project execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction estimating.
- Expertise with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.

- Annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000.
