About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator specializing in metal or flat commercial roofing systems and specialist building envelopes to join a growing contractor based in Birmingham. This role offers a competitive salary in the range of £50,000 to £60,000 plus bonuses, a company car or allowance, training, pension benefits, and 33 days of annual leave. The successful candidate will be essential in generating precise and competitive tenders and cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-tender and pre-contract facade surveys to evaluate conditions, substrates, fixing systems, and refurbishment needs.
- Coordinate and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, architects, and structural engineers.
- Develop Bills of Quantities, cost breakdowns, valuations, contract variations, and final accounts.
- Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and survey reports in detail.
- Conduct site surveys and evaluate project risks to support commercial and project teams throughout construction phases.
- Maintain regular working hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no weekend shifts.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar capacity working with metal and flat commercial roofs or specialist building envelopes.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and technical documents.
- Skilled in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience in post-Grenfell fire safety remediation projects and EWS1 assessments is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license is required.
