Job description
Overview
Hemamco Company Limited is currently looking for a skilled Estimation Engineer to join their team for projects approved by Saudi Aramco and other potential clients. The role demands a focus on delivering quality construction, adhering to safety standards, and ensuring compliance with engineering regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs), work scopes, technical specifications, drawings, and commercial needs.
- Identify tender requirements, potential project risks, exclusions, and necessary clarifications.
- Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Material Take-Offs (MTOs), along with detailed cost breakdowns.
- Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, indirect expenses, and overall project overheads.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to issue RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assess supplier quotations and adjust pricing for consistency and fairness.
- Create unit cost rates and productivity standards.
- Support the creation of commercial proposals and tender documentation.
- Maintain a database of historical costs and benchmark data for accurate future estimates.
- Engage in tender review meetings to contribute to bid/no-bid decisions.
- Assist the project team in the transition of estimate assumptions after contract award.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in estimating or tendering, preferably in industrial, EPC, or construction sectors.
- Familiarity with the Saudi market is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in developing BOQs and MTOs.
- Proficiency in estimating costs related to materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting.
- Ability to develop productivity and unit-rate assumptions accurately.
- Experience in tender analysis and bid preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of EPC and construction project execution methodologies.
- Knowledge of local Saudi vendors and subcontractors is advantageous.
General Requirements
- Appropriate academic and technical credentials for the role.
- Experience in industrial, construction, infrastructure, Oil & Gas, or EPC environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Dedication to safety, quality, cost management, and adherence to schedules.
- Professional integrity and the ability to operate in evolving project organizations.
- Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia preferred.
- Familiarity with major Saudi clients such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, or SEC is a plus.
- Proficiency in English communication suited to the role.
