Equipment Operator I

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Aircraft Appearance equipment to service aircraft safely and efficiently in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and relevant regulatory and Airport Authority standards. Timely performance and adherence to safety protocols are critical.

Primary Duties

• Operate various Ground Support and Aircraft Appearance equipment for airlines effectively.
• Strictly follow company SOPs, Work Instructions, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Complete assigned tasks punctually; report any deviations, delays, or performance issues to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain a strong safety awareness concerning aircraft ground operations, including equipment handling and loading hazards, and carry out required health and safety checks.
• Inspect all assigned equipment before use to verify serviceability, adequate fuel levels, cleanliness, and absence of foreign objects (FOD); notify team leaders of any faults or discrepancies to prevent disruptions.
• Perform multitasking duties such as positioning chocks, cones, marshalling, and manual handling as needed.
• Conduct FOD checks and operate all equipment for which the employee is qualified and licensed.
• Manage movement of equipment between airside areas, engineering workshop, GSE wash bay, fueling station, and the QR hangar washing facility.
• Undertake any additional department-related duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma plus at least one year of relevant job experience, or bachelor's degree or equivalent with no prior experience required.
• Basic understanding of ramp handling operations.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Aviation Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP).
• Possession of a valid driving license from home country or Qatar.
• Must hold or be able to obtain GSE operating permits for equipment including lower deck loader, passenger steps, baggage and conveyor belts.
• Must hold or be able to acquire a Qatari Heavy Vehicle License for technical cleaning operations involving carpet shampoo trucks, aircraft wash bowsers, and maintenance platforms.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic professional etiquette and communication skills.
• Teamwork orientation and ability to handle operational scenarios effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of Aircraft Pushback and Towing Certificate is desirable.
• Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications and computer literacy.
• Proficiency in correspondence and basic arithmetic skills.
