About the Role
We are a dedicated organization focusing on environmental research and sustainability, striving to enhance scientific understanding, environmental safeguarding, climate resilience, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable progress through rigorous research and data-driven solutions. Our teams operate remotely across various specialties — including Environmental Science, Ecology, Climate and Sustainability Research — collaborating with universities, government agencies, labs, NGOs, and more to address complex ecological challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute research strategies aligned with scientific goals, sustainability priorities, and evolving environmental issues.
- Lead and oversee multidisciplinary research initiatives encompassing climate change, ecosystems, biodiversity, water and air quality, marine environments, pollution control, conservation, and natural resource management.
- Create detailed research plans featuring methodologies, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Identify emerging environmental topics, research gaps, and priority areas for investigation.
- Manage environmental studies through designing surveys, monitoring schemes, fieldwork, lab analysis, and data collection using appropriate protocols and quality controls.
- Supervise safe, ethical, and compliant field research activities, including diverse environmental sampling and ecological assessments.
- Ensure database management with emphasis on data accuracy, traceability, and documentation.
- Analyze environmental data via statistical tools, GIS, modeling, visualization, and collaborate with technical experts like GIS specialists and ecologists.
- Develop predictive environmental models and decision-support tools as applicable.
- Administer research laboratories, field equipment, and technical resources with quality assurance practices.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, technological advances, and regulatory frameworks; leverage technologies such as remote sensing, drones, AI, and automated monitoring for research innovation.
- Build and maintain research partnerships with academic, governmental, and specialist entities; manage external consultants and service providers.
- Oversee financial aspects of research projects including budgeting, expenditure, funding opportunities, and grant applications.
- Ensure compliance with UAE environmental legislation, ethical standards, data policies, and coordinate cross-functionally with regulatory and sustainability teams.
- Translate scientific findings into actionable environmental management recommendations, policy advice, sustainability strategies, and operational improvements.
- Prepare and present scientific papers, technical reports, executive briefings, and research deliverables to diverse audiences including senior leaders and government bodies.
- Support environmental assessments, sustainability initiatives, conservation, and climate resilience programs.
- Monitor research KPIs related to scientific quality, project completion, funding, stakeholder engagement, innovation, and compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive records of research methodologies, datasets, permits, reports, and intellectual property.
- Develop research governance frameworks ensuring integrity, ethics, and data security.
- Identify and mitigate research risks across field and operational segments.
- Champion continuous improvements in research methods, technologies, and scientific ability.

Candidate Qualifications and Profile
- Substantial experience in environmental research or related scientific disciplines such as ecology, climate science, marine biology, conservation, sustainability, or natural resource management.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing scientific research projects and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sampling, monitoring, laboratory procedures, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with GIS, statistical tools, environmental modeling, or data science is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and collaborate broadly with academic, governmental, and consultancy organizations.
- Comprehensive understanding of environmental laws, sustainability frameworks, and management practices relevant to the UAE or similar arid, marine, desert, and urban ecosystems.
- Excellent scientific communication skills, including writing research proposals, technical reports, and delivering presentations.
- Project and stakeholder management capabilities with experience managing budgets and resources.
- Comfort with emerging environmental technologies such as remote sensing, AI, and automated monitoring systems.
- Advanced academic background: relevant bachelor's degree is required; master’s or doctorate degrees highly favored.
- Ability to operate autonomously in fully remote setups and to coordinate distributed field teams effectively.
Additional Information
This position is a full-time remote role based in the United Arab Emirates, requiring a mid to senior level professional. Experience with environmental contexts specific to the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council region will be valued.
Minimum education
Master's Degree
