Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Sales Director to join a well-established enterprise software company that is embarking on a significant phase of sales transformation and growth. This position requires proactive leadership to evolve and enhance the current sales function rather than maintaining the status quo. Reporting directly to the VP Sales APAC, the successful candidate will manage a team comprising Enterprise Sellers and Strategic Account Managers, enhance sales execution, and take pivotal roles in key complex sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of Enterprise Sellers and Strategic Account Managers.
- Design and implement effective territory, account, and pipeline strategies.
- Enhance opportunity qualification, pipeline integrity, forecasting accuracy, and deal governance.
- Promote and develop a multi-product sales approach.
- Lead and influence complex, high-value enterprise sales initiatives.
- Drive new customer acquisition, cloud migration engagements, and growth within existing client accounts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior-level customer stakeholders.
- Lead the negotiation and structuring of combined software and services deals.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Product, Services, Marketing, Customer Success, Commercial, Legal, and Delivery departments to support priority sales opportunities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Extensive background in enterprise SaaS, technology, or software sales within complex commercial settings.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing enterprise sales teams.
- Expertise in managing complex, multi-product sales processes.
- Strong capabilities in commercial negotiation and deal structuring.
- Experience engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders.
- Skilled in strategic account, territory, and pipeline management.
- Competence managing lengthy sales cycles (9-14 months) involving intricate buying processes.
- Demonstrated ability to directly manage performance and improve sales outcomes.
Desirable attributes include more than 10 years of experience in enterprise software or technology sales, with a track record of closing deals ranging from $500K to over $5M. Experience in public sector, local government, education, healthcare, or regulated industries is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong enterprise SaaS sales leadership from other sectors is equally valued.
Compensation and Work Environment
The role offers a base salary range of AUD 220,000 to 250,000 plus superannuation, with on-target earnings (OTE) between AUD 450,000 and 500,000. The position supports hybrid working arrangements, balancing onsite presence with flexible work practices.
Additional Information
The company has an established customer base with clear avenues for growth through new customer acquisition, cloud migration, and broader adoption of their extensive software portfolio. The new Sales Director will have the mandate to elevate sales capabilities, implement cultural and operational changes, and increase accountability throughout the sales organization.
