Job description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Sales Director to join a well-established enterprise software company entering a new phase of sales growth and transformation. This position is not about maintaining an existing sales function but about actively building and improving it. Reporting directly to the VP Sales APAC, you will lead a team of Enterprise Sellers and Strategic Account Managers, enhance sales execution, and play an active role in progressing complex high-value deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage the performance of Enterprise Sellers and Strategic Account Managers.
  • Create and implement territory, account, and pipeline strategies to drive results.
  • Enhance processes related to opportunity qualification, pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and deal governance.
  • Develop and promote a multi-product sales strategy across the company’s portfolio.
  • Take ownership of complex, high-value enterprise sales opportunities, involving software and services.
  • Lead efforts in new customer acquisition, cloud migration projects, and expansion within existing client accounts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders at customer organizations.
  • Coordinate negotiation and structuring of software and services contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product, Services, Marketing, Customer Success, Commercial, Legal, and Delivery to ensure success on priority deals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in enterprise SaaS, software, or technology sales environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance sales team performance and develop individual sellers.
  • Experienced with complex multi-product sales cycles typically lasting 9 to 14 months, involving significant commercial negotiation and deal structuring.
  • Strong skills in executive stakeholder engagement and strategic account, territory, and pipeline management.
  • Comfortable managing long sales cycles within complex buying environments.
  • Hands-on experience with direct performance management and coaching.
  • Preferably over 10 years of enterprise software or technology sales experience.
  • Track record of winning deals ranging from $500,000 to upwards of $5 million.
  • Experience in sectors like public service, local government, education, health, or regulated industries is beneficial but not essential.

Why Join?

The company already has a strong customer base and multiple clear paths to growth including new client acquisition, cloud migration, and greater software adoption. The leadership challenge offers the chance to raise sales team capability, instill stronger accountability, and transform the sales approach. This role is ideal for a seasoned enterprise SaaS leader eager to take on a meaningful build and transformation project.

Additional Information

  • Compensation: Base salary between $220,000 to $250,000 AUD plus superannuation, with an On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $450,000 to $500,000 AUD.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid working model based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
