Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Center Cabler to independently apply specialized technical expertise focused on installation, routing, labeling, testing, maintaining, and documenting structured cabling systems that support data center networks, servers, storage, security, and facility infrastructure at our Alice Springs facility in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee management, control, and upkeep of critical infrastructure configurations.
- Identify, specify, and develop comprehensive requirements for facility infrastructure upgrades, modifications, replacements, and recapitalization.
- Provide engineering and design teams with technical assistance for installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse cabling systems per engineering specs.
- Evaluate and advise on proposed facility infrastructure and system changes from concept through detailed issued-for-construction designs.
- Plan, coordinate, manage, and execute tasks supporting critical infrastructure configuration changes.
- Offer recommendations and guidance on reliability, operation, maintenance, lifecycle management, and cost considerations of facility systems and infrastructure.
- Conduct technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations.
Candidate Profile
- Certification in BICSI or comparable structured cabling design and installation.
- Journeyman Electrical License is preferred.
- Capability to obtain ACMA Open Cabling registration with endorsements in optical fiber, structured cable, and coaxial.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in telecommunications environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Must acquire White Card and Working at Heights certifications.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management and keen attention to detail.
- Able to perform independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Committed to safety and producing quality workmanship.
- Experienced in installing structured cabling systems.
- Demonstrates strong technical aptitude and interest in new and emerging technologies.
Security and Employment Conditions
Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining appropriate security and medical clearances, including a U.S. TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
