Engineering Technician

Position Overview

As an Engineering Technician, you will promptly address guest maintenance requests and communicate directly with guests to resolve issues independently. Your duties include performing preventive upkeep on tools and equipment, inspecting them visually, and managing maintenance inventory and part requisitions. You will coordinate shift communications regarding daily tasks and challenges using approved systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC at an advanced level.
• Demonstrate above average skills in engineering operations and general mechanical aptitude.
• Show proficiency in at least three technical categories, intermediate skills in three others, and basic skills in the remaining areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management.
• Use hand and power tools safely and skillfully to complete repair and maintenance tasks.
• Perform complex repairs on property infrastructure, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters ensuring compliance with company and local regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair various equipment including pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, HVAC, cosmetic items, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and program TVs.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures during maintenance for safety.
• Utilize engineering software related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and allied systems proficiently.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and perform Engineer on Duty tasks including readings and rounds.
• Adhere strictly to company safety, security policies and ensure proper storage of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a professional appearance, safeguard company information and assets, and deliver exceptional guest service meeting company hospitality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, provide clear communication, and support a positive work environment.
• Handle physical duties such as moving items up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance, navigating stairs, ramps, and ladders, and performing tasks requiring bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Access and input work-related data through computers.
• Perform any other reasonable job duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Significant experience and training in general maintenance, electrical systems, refrigeration, parts inventory, and surface preparation/painting.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
• Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification mandatory.
• Comply with relevant state and federal licensing and certification laws.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• No supervisory experience necessary.

Work schedule: Full-time on-site role with no remote working option.
