Job description
Summary
The Hardware Technology Engineering Program Management Team at Apple seeks a diligent Engineering New Product Technology Project Manager to lead new product introduction (NPI) build management and material readiness for essential technologies. The role involves managing build matrices, forecasting and planning materials, overseeing Clear to Build (CTB) processes, ensuring logistics preparedness, managing budgets and procurement, as well as configuration management tasks. This position favors strategic problem solvers who thrive collaborating across teams to communicate updates, evaluate risks, and apply complex mitigation strategies supporting engineering development builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead NPI build planning activities, including managing build matrices for components and assemblies.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop risk mitigation plans and oversee timely issue resolution.
- Conduct material forecasting and planning with module and component vendors; drive CTB processes and clearly communicate changes to ensure adherence to material lead times, logistics readiness, and shipping plans aligned with development builds.
- Collaborate with program managers, global commodity managers, and finance teams to create and manage development budgets and procurement activities.
- Work closely with engineering design teams to develop, structure, and release Bills of Materials (BOMs), including managing part numbers, engineering change orders, and associated technical documentation.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing competing demands effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Experience in supply chain program management encompassing build management/planning, material clear-to-build processes, and supplier management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with configuration management and BOM processes.
- Proficiency in Excel or Apple Numbers and an ability to quickly learn new software tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills fostering effective two-way interaction.
- Capability for strategic critical thinking and complex problem solving.
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
