Role Overview

The Engineering Manager will lead the CI/CD infrastructure platform, which is treated as an internal product aimed at supporting more than 150 engineers across 20 teams. The goal is to maintain world-class velocity and uncompromising quality, focusing engineers on developing groundbreaking agentic technologies. An upcoming increase in quality demands will significantly increase testing and engineering output, requiring a scalable platform without additional developer overhead.

As a servant leader, you will manage a remote team of four infrastructure engineers, driving the evolution towards a zero-toil, scalable infrastructure platform. Advocating on behalf of platform users is key to making the right technical approaches the easiest ones to adopt.

Responsibilities

• Continuously deliver and enhance the infrastructure platform to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Lead the reduction of manual tasks by integrating AI-driven engineering methods, achieving a zero-touch scalable infrastructure where AI assists in dependency management, incident resolution, cloud cost optimization, and developer support.
• Prepare and implement strategies to scale CI/CD and artifact distribution systems in anticipation of a quality surge, minimizing engineering workload increases.
• Develop, mentor, and coach a high-impact infrastructure engineering team of four by setting clear goals, providing timely and constructive feedback, and nurturing a culture of empathy, autonomy, and ongoing improvement within an asynchronous remote environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience or willingness to engage with the Camunda platform.
• Proven people leadership with a history of advancing engineers beyond senior levels.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate technical needs into actionable engineering roadmaps and strategies implemented across teams.
• Senior-level technical expertise with hands-on experience in:
  • Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or equivalents.
  • Kubernetes in any distribution.
  • Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, ArgoCD, or similar.
  • Scaling high-load CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions with self-hosted runners or comparable solutions.
  • Backend development proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python.
• Ability to critically review complex system architectures and codebases, and readiness to contribute hands-on when necessary, for example by implementing internal workflow automations.
• Experience fostering efficient, productive teams in remote and asynchronous work environments.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Leading the transformation of teams into AI-native or automation-first cultures.
• Background in technical product management or strong product-oriented thinking.
• Implementing FinOps practices and financial accountability.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is competitive and transparent, with salaries adjusted for location—Standard and Major global tech hub markets reflect local rates. Total Target Cash (base salary plus variable compensation where applicable) spans:

• United States: $172,600 to $278,300
• Canada: C$183,300 to C$301,500
• United Kingdom: £108,400 to £178,300
• Singapore: S$214,400 to S$321,500

Applicants outside these regions will be employed via a global employer partner with a personalized total rewards estimate provided post-interview.

Equity participation is offered through a Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
