Role Overview

The Engineering Manager will lead the Authentication Services team, responsible for the development and operation of the secure authentication infrastructure enabling sign-ins and identity verification. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain authentication features that are easy to integrate and robust under production conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and align team goals with organizational objectives.
• Lead delivery and roadmap planning of authentication-related projects.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture focused on growth and challenge.
• Provide technical guidance on complex backend and cloud native infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff to develop the team’s technical vision.
• Coach and develop engineers to achieve their potential.
• Recruit and retain high-quality talent within a dynamic environment.
• Scale the team and services responsibly, refining hiring and onboarding processes alongside peer managers.

Requirements

• Multiple years managing engineering teams delivering operational services.
• Strong expertise in cloud native backend systems and infrastructure.
• Proven experience fostering a healthy and productive remote team environment.
• Demonstrated ability in project management including planning and delivery execution.
• Experience scaling technical teams and the services they manage.

Compensation and Benefits

For candidates based in Canada, the salary range is CAD 171,000 to CAD 248,000 annually.
