Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the complete lifecycle of high-quality filtration product design, development, and launch activities ensuring alignment with company standards and strategic goals. Employ strong engineering fundamentals combined with disciplined project management to innovate and deliver products on schedule and within budget.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of filtration products focusing on material choice, manufacturability, and sustainability considerations.
- Perform competitive benchmarking to ensure market differentiation and relevance of products.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and execution plans guaranteeing alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate resources internally and externally to complete projects according to scope and performance standards.
- Provide technical assistance to sales and other internal teams, including resolving customer issues and preparing clear technical presentations.
- Apply process optimization techniques and risk mitigation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce project risks related to cost, quality, reliability, and timing.
- Lead cross-functional design review sessions to enhance manufacturability, quality, and reliability, ensuring engineering, manufacturing, and customer objectives are aligned.
- Track project metrics regularly, analyze performance using KPIs, and adjust parameters to meet organizational targets efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency with MS Office software suite.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, particularly mechanical principles and fluid mechanics related to filtration technology.
- Knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-up, value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), and design failure mode effect analysis (DFMEA).
- Competent in design for manufacturability (DFM), prototyping, and testing methodologies.
- Experience or familiarity with sheet metal, casting, and plastic product development.
- Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and ISO/TS 16949:2009 standards.
- Effective team collaborator across sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex engineering concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
