About the Role
You will be a critical contributor within a dynamic engineering team, leading the development, troubleshooting, and continuous enhancement of manufacturing processes by applying engineering analysis and specialized tools. This role requires active collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Application, Design, Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance, to launch and deliver air filtration products safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively to customers. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Gurugram and travel to other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function specifically for the air filtration segment.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes to ensure timely launch of new air filtration products.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing problems, applying industrial engineering tools to implement sustainable solutions collaboratively.
- Champion problem-solving methodologies and lead knowledge transfer and training related to new processes and equipment.
- Create and communicate best practice methods to plant personnel to standardize manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams, ensuring they are reviewed, understood, and formally approved.
- Stay updated on new design techniques, methods, materials, and engineering advancements to maintain Donaldson's competitive edge.
- Mentor and develop the engineering team, fostering problem-solving skills, ownership, and professional growth.
- Oversee the implementation and enhancement of engineering processes such as change control, documentation management, and maintaining the Bill of Materials (BOM) in Oracle.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives focused on scrap minimization, productivity improvements, and value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), working closely with product engineering to meet plant monthly and annual goals.
- Apply ergonomic and safety principles to optimize machine-operator interactions and maintain a minimal risk work environment.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience and Technical Skills
- 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the filtration industry.
- Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
- Experience with IATF 16949 quality management standards is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in driving manufacturing efficiency improvements.
- Strong expertise in industrial engineering techniques and implementation of action plans.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience managing projects and delivering measurable results is preferred.
Leadership Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership capability to direct, motivate, and provide clear guidance within a production environment.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure adherence to appropriate processes.
