The energy landscape in the Middle East is undergoing rapid transformation with substantial infrastructure investments, rising deployment of renewable energy, and growing emphasis on storage, flexibility, and digital solutions. We leverage both global expertise and regional insights to assist utilities, governments, developers, and major energy users in navigating these evolving challenges. Our expertise encompasses electricity networks, renewable energy, utility-scale battery energy storage systems, energy strategy, due diligence, regulatory guidance, grid integration, demand-side flexibility, and essential sectors such as data centers and water infrastructure.

Position Overview

The Energy Consultant role provides an opportunity to develop technical and consulting skills across a broad portfolio, including electricity networks, renewables, energy storage, system integration, energy strategy, and energy-transition projects. You will collaborate with global and regional experienced teams contributing to engineering assessments, feasibility analyses, and advisory projects for diverse clients.

Ideal for an early-career professional with about 1–2 years of relevant industry experience, this role offers mentorship and support to grow technical, analytical, communication, project management, and client engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary energy projects spanning networks, renewables, storage, system integration, and strategy development.
  • Assist in feasibility and option studies, engineering design reviews, and providing technical consultancy.
  • Collect, analyze, and review technical, operational, and project-related data.
  • Evaluate drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
  • Prepare clear technical contributions for reports, presentations, bids, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with regional and global team members and engage in project, client, and site meetings when appropriate.
  • Effectively manage assigned tasks, ensuring quality and compliance with schedules, governance, and health and safety standards.
  • Advocate for and support development initiatives within the Middle East Energy team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Energy, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of relevant experience in consulting, utilities, project development, or a similar energy-related environment.
  • Basic understanding of energy systems, with exposure to electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, energy analysis, or system integration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to interpret technical information, communicate effectively, prioritize, and take responsibility for tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn engineering tools, AI applications, data analysis, and energy modeling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Why Work With Us

  • Gain diverse experience across Middle East energy and infrastructure projects supported by GHD’s global experts.
  • Engage in a multidisciplinary, innovative environment allowing influence on both standardized and customized solutions.
  • Access structured professional growth, mentorship, and pathways toward professional accreditation.
  • Enjoy an inclusive environment valuing collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
