Job description

Role Overview

There is a fixed-term Band 3 post available within the Emergency Department for 34.5 hours per week until 1 January 2027. Candidates need to have at least two years of experience as a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) in an acute setting.

Key Responsibilities and Working Environment

The successful candidate will undergo training tailored for the Emergency Department. This role involves close collaboration with nursing and medical professionals. Candidates must be capable of performing effectively in a busy and sometimes pressurized environment, demonstrating initiative and contributing constructively to the wider team. Basic computer proficiency would be beneficial.

The department manages a broad range of patients with various illnesses and injuries, including approximately 20% pediatric cases. It emphasizes teaching, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
