Job description
Role Overview
The Eligibility Officer role involves evaluating psychological injury claims to ensure compliance with the NSW Workers Compensation legislation and relevant scheme standards. This position requires delivering timely, equitable, and evidence-supported decisions regarding claim eligibility and entitlements.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate psychological injury claims according to the NSW workers compensation framework.
- Render fair and prompt eligibility and entitlement determinations grounded in evidence.
- Provide empathetic and professional support to injured workers through trauma-informed, respectful communication.
- Collect and analyze medical, employment, and factual data to underpin decision-making.
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including employers, insurers, healthcare providers, legal representatives, and other involved parties.
- Effectively communicate complicated legislative decisions to customers and stakeholders in a clear and confident manner.
- Continuously update knowledge and apply emerging psychological injury regulations during claims management.
- Escalate intricate or sensitive cases appropriately, upholding high standards of case documentation and file quality.
Candidate Profile
- Experience within Workers Compensation, personal injury claims, or customer service roles in a related field.
- Exceptional communication skills characterized by clarity, confidence, and empathy for diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and judicious decision-making skills.
- Adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments.
