Job description
Job Overview
The Electrician position entails the installation, upkeep, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems, control panels, wiring, and related equipment, all to guarantee safe and effective operation.
Primary Duties
- Set up electrical wiring, control panels, and related machinery.
- Build and wire electrical control panels including PCC, MCC, and LT panels.
- Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Conduct tests, troubleshoot issues, and identify faults.
- Carry out routine maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Adhere to safety standards and ensure all electrical work complies with regulations.
- Assist with equipment installation and system commissioning tasks.
- Fix electrical malfunctions and replace parts as necessary.
- Properly care for and maintain all tools and instruments.
- Comply with safety protocols and organizational policies.
Required Competencies
- Understanding of electrical wiring and its components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and plans.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Awareness of electrical safety procedures and best practices.
- Basic proficiency with electrical tools and testing devices.
Qualifications and Experience
ITI Electrician certification or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Previous hands-on industry experience is an advantage.
Work Settings
The role is based in industrial manufacturing environments, project sites, workshops, or installations on site.
