Position Overview
Join W Hotels in Dubai as an Electrician responsible for addressing guest repair requests and ensuring smooth functioning of mechanical, electrical, and kitchen equipment. This full-time onsite role involves communication with guests, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and upholding company safety and quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to and attend guest maintenance requests, communicating effectively to resolve issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and machinery including cleaning and lubrication.
- Visually inspect and operate equipment and facility utilities, including shut-off valves.
- Manage maintenance inventory and requisition necessary parts or supplies.
- Report daily activities and issues clearly to subsequent shifts using approved systems.
- Demonstrate or acquire working knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and general building maintenance.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood repairs, and replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and guestroom amenities.
- Program TVs and carry out housekeeping-related engineering inventory responsibilities.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout safety procedures before maintenance work.
- Maintain interior and exterior landscaping and irrigation systems.
- Utilize basic computer skills to input air handler schedules and adjust temperatures.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and security protocols; report hazards or incidents promptly.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect company confidentiality and assets.
- Engage guests warmly and assist those with disabilities, upholding quality and service excellence.
- Build positive relationships with coworkers and contribute to team success.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, moving on stairs and ladders, and bending or stooping as needed.
- Complete additional reasonable duties as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Experience in general maintenance, interior and exterior surface preparation, and painting valued.
- Prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience advantageous.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- No supervisory experience required.
