Role Summary

This position involves inspecting, testing, maintaining, fault-finding, and diagnosing electrical systems compliant with safety standards and regulations. It also encompasses installing new electrical installations such as lighting and heating according to agreed standards and maintaining existing equipment. All tasks must adhere strictly to safety and industry regulations to ensure reliable and safe electrical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and repair faults in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including rewiring and monitoring.
• Attend to reactive repair and maintenance duties, including being on-call as scheduled.
• Determine required parts, place orders with preferred suppliers following company protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance and testing on various electrical systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and include emergency lighting, fire alarms, security, and door entry systems (where certified).
• Rewire damaged electrical systems such as emergency lighting, heating, alarms, door entry, and CCTV (where qualified).
• Execute work to company quality policies while complying with building regulations and health and safety standards.
• Conduct PAT and other appliance testing as part of service agreements, where authorized.
• Deliver excellent customer service, addressing onsite inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations and qualifications via ongoing professional development and toolbox talks.
• Understand NICEIC requirements and complete all relevant certification when qualified.
• Represent the company professionally, including proper use of PPE, uniform, and visible ID badges.
• Perform other electrician-related duties associated with social housing and local authority reactive, maintenance, and planned services as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior electrical experience including communal and domestic lighting, wiring, installations, and maintenance of alarm/door entry and fire safety systems.
• Level 3 Electrician qualification.
• Certified to the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Professional and presentable technician demeanor.
• Punctual and reliable work ethic.
• Valid full UK driver’s license.
