Job description
Position Overview
The Electrician role entails assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic wiring, apparatus, appliances, and fixtures employing both hand and power tools. Key duties include inspecting and diagnosing malfunctions in equipment and electrical systems, connecting wires to circuit breakers and transformers, and utilizing testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. The role requires planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring and systems following job specifications and compliance with the National Electric Code and local regulations. Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to repair requests and execute preventative maintenance for electrical tools, equipment, and appliances.
- Maintain and manage maintenance inventory, including requisitioning necessary parts and supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety, security policies, and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Properly store flammable materials in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary company information and safeguard company assets.
- Engage professionally with guests welcoming them, anticipating their service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation.
- Build and sustain positive working relationships within the team and respond attentively to colleagues’ concerns.
- Communicate clearly and professionally and ensure accurate preparation and review of information in diverse formats.
- Physically handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds independently and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma or equivalent education.
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in electrical maintenance or related fields.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- No supervisory experience is required.
