Job description
Role Overview
KBR is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician III to perform maintenance activities on electrical systems, equipment, and facilities, ensuring compliance with preventive and predictive maintenance plans while promoting safety and quality standards within the Oil & Gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily electrical maintenance on plant systems, equipment, and associated facilities within designated areas.
- Adhere strictly to established safety and quality protocols during electrical maintenance activities.
- Supervise and verify proper execution of routine maintenance works.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical assets promptly to boost system availability and reliability.
- Follow directions from Electrical Supervisors regarding maintenance orders and requests.
- Monitor maintenance progress, provide regular updates, and maintain detailed records of completed tasks against maintenance schedules.
- Enforce organizational policies and ensure all safety precautions are rigorously applied during maintenance operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) switchgear and control gear, including testing electronic protection relays, circuit breakers, contactors, motor starters, and automatic transfer switches.
- Measure partial discharge capacitor readings on HV motors and perform inline current signature analysis for motors.
- Test various types of transformers and aid switchgear operations in electrical substations when requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Electrical Leader promoting a proactive safety mindset.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 4 years of Oil & Gas maintenance experience for High School graduates, or minimum 2 years for Diploma holders.
- Certification from an accredited third-party or Saudi institute verifying competency and qualifications for this role.
- Strong technical expertise in Oil & Gas facility maintenance management.
Skills and Competencies
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems maintenance and repairs, including mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of electrical equipment design, installation, and upkeep.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance concepts and procedures.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
