Their offerings encompass cutting-edge licensed process technologies, expert advisory services, deep technical expertise, energy transition solutions, sophisticated design, and intelligent asset optimization tools aimed at operational excellence.

Currently, KBR seeks a Commercial Manager to oversee all contract-related activities for maintenance operations within the Maintenance Department at their Jubail location. This role will involve scope development, documentation completion, bidder determination, tender issuance, awarding contracts, and ensuring compliance with operational requirements, all to drive world-class performance in maintenance execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed Scopes of Work (SOW), evaluation methodologies, contracting strategies, and preliminary cost estimates for maintenance work including routine operations, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
  • Manage all aspects of the tendering and procurement processes, from bidder selection and instruction distribution through clarification, commercial evaluation, negotiations, award recommendations, and contract finalization.
  • Lead contract administration and commercial oversight including cost and budget control, payment verifications, handling of variations and change orders, claims management, and mitigation of contractual risks.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractors and subcontractors including their mobilization, performance monitoring, KPI evaluation, corrective measures, and contract close-out ensuring adherence to contractual and operational requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance contracts meet mandatory HSSEQ, QA/QC, technical, commercial, and company governance/DOA standards with proper documentation and audit structures maintained.
  • Provide commercial leadership and foster cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HSSEQ, QA/QC, and contractors to achieve timely and cost-effective contract execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 7 years of relevant contracting experience, particularly in Oil & Gas or refinery maintenance sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in maintenance contracting, subcontractor supervision, and procurement operations.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Good command of SAP system functionality.
  • Thorough understanding of bidding supervision/co-ordination and maintenance activity contracting.
  • Strong acumen in contract administration, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Solid technical knowledge of maintenance execution management.
  • Experienced in contractor and subcontractor management practices.
  • Competence in people management.
  • Highly organized with proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and proven leadership in large organizations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strategic mindset with openness to innovation.
  • Capability to deliver business results within diverse, multicultural environments.
