Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical infrastructure and automation systems in a cold-chain food manufacturing setup. This role focuses on ensuring optimal equipment performance, energy conservation, and strict compliance with electrical safety and food hygiene standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and OSHA.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems across automated equipment including processing lines, spiral freezers, and packaging machinery.
• Oversee electrical power infrastructure components such as sub-distribution panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, backup power generators, and controls for ammonia or Freon industrial refrigeration systems.
• Implement preventive maintenance plans for electrical devices to reduce unplanned downtime in low-temperature conditions ranging from -18°C to -40°C.
• Ensure all electrical enclosures, cabling, and sensors comply with IP65/IP69K standards to endure frequent high-pressure chemical washdowns.
• Lead project engineering tasks involving electrical system design, upgrades in power distribution, and integration of controls for capital projects and new production lines.
• Maintain workplace safety by applying Lockout/Tagout procedures, arc flash safety measures, adherence to national electrical codes, and hygiene guidelines.

Qualifications and Required Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechatronics.
• Between three to five plus years of experience in industrial manufacturing plants, particularly in FMCG, frozen food, dairy, or cold storage sectors.
• Practical experience in PLC programming using Ladder Logic and Structured Text, along with configuring VFD parameters.
• Strong proficiency with industrial sensors including temperature, pressure, level, and flow devices.
• Competence in reading electrical schematics and utilizing CAD design software such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Excellent skills in root cause analysis, capacity to operate in cold storage environments, and collaborative work with maintenance and sanitation teams.
