Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team full-time in Auckland, contributing to impactful projects in Renewable Energy, Thermal Energy, Water, and Power sectors. This permanent position involves engagement from initial concept development through detailed design and construction support, influencing vital infrastructure and the energy transition.
Responsibilities
- Generate detailed electrical drawings, documentation, 3D models, and layout plans.
- Create cable schedules, wiring schematics, termination drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Assist with low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical design tasks.
- Participate in cross-disciplinary design reviews and ensure coordination among project teams.
- Adhere to industry standards, client specifications, and safety protocols in all work.
- Support design phases during procurement, construction, and commissioning stages.
- Promote a safe and environmentally-aware work environment aligned with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in one or more sectors such as renewable energy, thermal energy, water/wastewater, power generation, or electrical transmission and distribution.
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or other relevant electrical design software tools.
- Experience in producing comprehensive electrical design documentation and construction-ready deliverables.
- Strong command of electrical design principles and familiarity with applicable industry standards.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate closely with engineers, designers, clients, and stakeholders.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Knowledge of HV/LV power systems, substations, and switchgear equipment.
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and digital engineering software.
