Role Overview
Join our team as a permanent full-time Electrical Designer contributing to impactful projects in renewable energy, thermal energy, water, and power sectors. This position offers involvement from early concept development through detailed design and construction support, helping to deliver critical infrastructure projects integral to the energy transition.

Within New Zealand, with offices nationwide, we serve a broad client base across energy, water, power, and industrial fields, engaging in projects from initial engineering to installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality electrical design documents, drawings, models, and layouts.
- Create detailed cable schedules, wiring diagrams, termination drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Support both low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical design processes.
- Engage in multidisciplinary design reviews and coordinate with project teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, client specifications, and safety protocols.
- Assist design efforts throughout procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Actively promote and maintain a safe and sustainable work environment aligned with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
- Practical and detail-oriented in electrical design with strong communication skills.
- Experienced in delivering precise, coordinated electrical design outputs.
- Capable of collaborating effectively with engineers, designers, clients, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Expertise in one or more sectors such as renewable and thermal energy, water and wastewater services, power generation, transmission, or distribution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other electrical design software applications.
- Demonstrated experience producing electrical design documentation and construction-ready deliverables.
- Solid understanding of electrical design principles and relevant industry standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective teamwork and client interaction.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) power systems, substations, and switchgear.
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Familiarity with 3D modelling and digital engineering technologies.
