Electrical Design Engineer

Role Overview

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Al Shuwayer Group of Companies, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive electrical design documentation and ensuring alignment with project requirements and customer expectations in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the customer's opening order, associated job specifications, and general drawings.
• Develop a complete electrical drawing package for client submission in accordance with project specifications.
• Generate an accurate electrical bill of materials (BOM) for assigned projects.
• Oversee and support drafting personnel to maintain timelines and adhere to procedures.
• Deliver detailed electrical drawings, including internal layouts and wiring diagrams, for manufacturing release.
• Review all project documents post-launch, identifying clarifications and conflicts prior to commencing design work.
• Implement measures to reduce Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) resulting from internal factors.
• Work on minimizing the need for revised Bills of Materials stemming from internal issues.
• Track and manage customer modifications, integrating changes properly during design submissions and revisions.
• Achieve or exceed targets related to allocated design hours per product category.
• Consider company scope and material expenses, avoiding unapproved material orders without consulting the project manager, and swiftly addressing any issues emerging during design evaluations.
• Fully understand customer requirements to prepare design packages that meet or exceed customer satisfaction objectives.

Professional Skills

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, EPLAN, and drafting standards and conventions.
• Experience with Siemens S8 and ABB ProE considered advantageous.

• Understanding of electrical engineering symbols and terminology used in drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical protection functions and schemes.

Experience & Qualification

• Between 2 to 6 years experience in electrical design engineering, drafting, or industrial application roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
