Primary Responsibilities

• Keep health, safety, and environmental documentation, records, and policies current, precise, and accessible.
• Compile and deliver monthly health and safety performance reports.
• Organize and facilitate health and safety committee meetings, ensuring action items are completed.
• Encourage safe work habits by promoting hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
• Guarantee compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards concerning health, safety, and environment.
• Manage hazard and risk registers; lead risk assessments to confirm effective controls.
• Monitor audit, inspection, and compliance outcomes, driving corrective actions towards verified closure.
• Assist in incident reporting and investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventive measures are executed.
• Coordinate contractor safety management including inductions, approvals, safety plan assessments, and site compliance monitoring.
• Support environmental compliance efforts, including monitoring programs, hazardous substances tracking, continuous improvement projects, and advancement of site-specific HSE goals.

Candidate Profile

• HSE qualification or equivalent practical experience in a site-focused environment.
• Proficient in maintaining HSE records and documentation alongside monthly reporting utilizing available systems and tools.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental legal and regulatory requirements relevant to site operations.
• Skilled in conducting risk assessments, updating risk registers, and verifying control effectiveness.
• Experience managing audits or inspections, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring resolution.
• Competent in incident investigation including root cause identification and preventive action tracking.
• Familiar with contractor safety protocols including induction, documentation evaluation, and compliance oversight.
• Knowledgeable about environmental compliance and hazardous substance management practices.
• Additional qualifications in incident investigation, risk assessment, or environmental certification are advantageous.
• Possession of full working rights to work in New Zealand.
