Role Overview
The Editor will be responsible for enhancing written content by ensuring it is clear, accurate, cohesive, and aligned with the organization’s quality and stylistic standards. This role involves editing across diverse formats while collaborating with multiple teams to produce content tailored to target audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine articles, reports, web content, marketing collateral, newsletters, social media posts, and other written documents.
- Correct and improve grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, formatting, and factual accuracy.
- Enhance clarity, flow, structure, tone, and overall impact of content.
- Ensure adherence to editorial guidelines, style manuals, brand voice, and formatting standards.
- Work alongside writers and creators to provide constructive feedback and suggest enhancements.
- Verify facts, sources, terminology, names, and data for accuracy.
- Adjust content to suit varying audiences, platforms, and communication goals.
- Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and deadlines are met.
- Maintain consistency across different content and communication channels.
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, design, product, and other teams on content initiatives.
- Update and maintain editorial guidelines, templates, and terminology resources as needed.
- Support content strategy and propose improvements for content quality and user engagement.
- Keep updated on relevant language, publishing, and industry developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Literature, Marketing, Media, or related fields.
- Exceptional written English proficiency with strong grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and style skills.
- Proven editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and content development expertise.
- High attention to detail focusing on accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to clarify complex content while retaining original intent and tone.
- Knowledge of editorial practices, content structures, tone, and audience needs.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Research and analytical capabilities for verifying content accuracy and spotting inconsistencies.
- Familiarity with content management systems, collaboration platforms, and editing or publishing tools.
- Adaptable and meticulous with a dedication to maintaining content excellence.
