Early Morning Stock Associate

Overview

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in ensuring customers have a favorable shopping experience through friendly, respectful engagement, maintaining store standards, and assisting in various store areas as needed. The associate is expected to uphold company best practices and maintain a clean and well-organized work environment throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all tasks, practicing safe behaviors consistently.
• Maintain vigilant awareness on the sales floor to ensure a secure shopping environment; keep emergency exits clear and report unsafe conditions promptly to leadership.
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers and colleagues, promoting a respectful and friendly atmosphere.
• Assist customers by operating registers, answering merchandise questions knowledgeably, and providing courteous service including greetings and thanks during transactions.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and escalate issues to store leadership when required.
• Represent the company brand positively in all interactions.
• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting frequently touched areas throughout the store.
• Adhere strictly to the company dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Complete daily merchandise sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, organized, and merchandised according to standards.
• Process and expedite new merchandise to the sales floor urgently, arranging items per monthly presentation guidelines while maintaining brand awareness within departments.
• Understand and participate in loss prevention initiatives and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity by safeguarding confidential information, cash, credit card details, and merchandise.
• Follow mark-out-of-stock policies, properly processing items and notifying store leadership for disposal approval.
• Adhere to policies regarding cash, check, credit transactions, refunds, voids, and offline procedures with accuracy and awareness.
• Maintain a sense of urgency to enhance productivity by following best practices and reducing unnecessary steps in workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication skills to engage positively with customers, associates, and leadership.
• Basic math proficiency suitable for retail transactional operations.

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally push, pull, and lift items over 25 pounds.
• Frequently perform movements such as bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.
• Capable of standing, walking, and moving continuously throughout the workday.
• Comfortable using store equipment including Personal Digital Terminals (PDTs), cash registers, PCs, janitorial tools, rolling racks, and ladders.
• Stockroom associates must be able to regularly push, pull, and lift over 20 pounds.
